Instead of asking for gifts in celebration of her birthday, Jonathan Emile’s sister Majenta (above centre), decided to honor her brothers recovery by asking her close family and friends to make a donation to the AYA Program. The ‘Adolescent Young Adult Oncology’ program, run by Dr. Kavaan (Right) and Christine Leblanc (Below) was responsible for Jon E’s care during his Cancer Years. The Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program was established in 2003 as a joint venture between the Department of Oncology and the Department of Medicine McGill University Healthcare Centre. The program—the first of its kind in Québec—addresses the exceptional needs of cancer patients between the ages of 18-29 years. Majenta managed to raise 1000$ which was handed over to the AYA in January 2008.
